Phil first visited Fernie in 2004 when taking a break from his career in the film industry in London, UK, to enjoy a season of snowboarding. The lure of the mountains was so great that he returned permanently with his wife and young family in 2009. Phil and Claire put down roots in Fernie and created The Loaf, an artisan bakery and restaurant, which quickly became an established favourite with locals and visitors alike.

In 2011 Phil began to pursue another interest by purchasing and renovating one of Fernie’s prominent downtown historic buildings. 641-2nd Avenue combines historic features with a modern feel, and now houses The Loaf restaurant at ground level and a stunning, loft-style apartment above.

Phil has a passion for real estate; by buying and selling property in London he enabled his family to immigrate and settle in Canada. He is now excited to share that experience and help other families make their home throughout the Elk Valley.
